Ace Hotel in Portland: Downtown Trendy and Everything Else

Ace Hotel in Portland, OR

Ace Hotel in Portland, OR

Ace Hotels around the United States are becoming known as a tourist mecca for trendy, hip, artistic types making their forays into traveling. With outposts in cities like New York and Palm Springs, putting up a new downtown comfort zone in a cool city like Portland makes as much sense as anything. And this place is cool. From Clyde Commons, the formal dining area, to the Stumptown Coffee in the lobby, to Kenny and Zuke’s Delicatessen on the block, to the special event facility The Cleaners, Ace Hotel Portland has it all.

It shouldn’t surprise you to find strangers, not guest of the hotel, hanging out in the community lobby area, which features a photo booth, beautiful air plants, a massive square-shaped coffee table, and cozy lounge areas on multiple levels. So be prepared. Sometimes you’ll find a dj spinning records in the lobby, and the restaurants and small bar that accompany the interior lobby are just too cool for others to pass up.
